dahab_04The town of Dahab has a long history for luring travelers, and trapping them for days and weeks on end with its cheap ocean-side camps, golden beaches and rugged mountain backdrop, and above all a special "easy-pace" of life. Some, Egyptians and foreigners alike, have gone for short visits then somehow stayed for life.
In the recent decade Dahab has expanded beyond its humble origins, and now boasts a smooth fusion of hippie mellowness and resort chic. The banana pancakes, moonlight spiffs and hardcore backpackers still remain, though they now coexist with upscale restaurants and boutique hotels. However, while the vast majority of Sinai is being packaged and sold for mainstream consumption, Dahab is a place where individual travelers are still the rule rather than the exception.

butPerhaps we should start reading and caring about global concerns and not just ours. The 'NEEDS' of Corporate Travel must be addressed; we must raise the bar where Quality/Hospitality Standards are concerned in our Travel Services in general and Hotels & Resorts in particular.
Much higher standards of know-how and professional finesse is required from all personnel (top to bottom ranks) in all fields related to the industry, most notably in technical know-how, general knowledge, education and culture, behavior and etiquette, languages, dress-codes, personal hygiene and so on.

And travelling back in time is unquestionably a joyful necessity.
As humans, we have a tendency to unload the unpleasant memories but hold onto all that was lovely, pure and right about our youth. Those years were far from being perfect, but somehow, today, they pop up as the golden days.
